Mountain Biking in Crystal Cove State Park
Share
Ventured down to Orange County to explore riding in Crystal Cove State Park! This area is a part of the larger South Coast Wilderness area, a protected habitat since 1990. Started at the Pacific Ridge Trailhead, where there are restrooms, water and easy parking. From there, rode Lizard Trail to Fenceline to Slow and Easy to El Moro Canyon, then back up Mach One to Ticketron. Lovely dry singletrack, with cacti and ocean views. Expect fun rollers and technical turns. Pick your route carefully... adjacent double track fire roads are extremely steep, >15%, making it a real push to get back up.
Trail Conditions: Firm sand, some looser parts, some switchbacks and rock gardens. Full sun, no shade.
What we rode: Steel hardtail MTBs with 29x2.6 tire
